May all you who come upon these words lay aside your false knowing. Allow Our words to penetrate to that part of you that has forgotten nothing of your own eternal life so that you may recognize that it is truly We who speak. These few words of consolation and inspiration are for your pleasure, enlightenment, and guidance.
As We look upon you in your present state, We see much confusion and strife, with many voices calling, coaxing, even threatening, so that some of you feel that you are being pulled asunder. Now then, let Us bind up the wounds of your hearts with assurances of Our love. Know that your present life with its many struggles and sorrows has great meaning and that all your efforts, yearnings, hopes, and disillusionment’s are ever before Our eyes.
Because there is so much confusion about who you are and why you are in mortality, We will start at the beginning.
You Are Our Offspring
When We say that you are Our offspring, We are not speaking metaphorically; however, We do not mean offspring in the earthly physical sense. We refer to when all consciousness including yours was One, long before the worlds were formed. During a primeval event, consciousness, that is to say, We, divided, producing numberless fragments. You are not simply from Us, you are part of Us and share Our divine nature with all Our desires to fulfill and manifest Ourselves in every possible radiant form of self-expression. This is your nature.
Opportunities for development in the spirit world are great, but there are whole realms of potential that cannot be explored without the help and hindrances of a physical body. Therefore, passage through the mortal realms is indispensable to the full development of consciousness or what you call the soul. For this purpose, We created the physical realms, including the earth.
All of you were parties to the vast creative acts that brought forth the earth and all that surrounds it. You were there and participated with Us in each creative act with joyful anticipation of the many opportunities that would be yours in mortality. Although many of you often feel weary of mortal life and long for an end to the sorrows and troubles that accompany physical life, your visits to the earth are precious opportunities for you to learn all that you need to know in order to be reunified with Us in divine perfection.
After each earthly incarnation you return to Us and enjoy a span in the spirit realms where you review the entire array of your most recent life’s experiences. This is a purposeful time of deep reflection, not just upon your missteps during the most recent earth life, but a celebration of all that you discovered, learned, achieved, and integrated into your character. Rest assured that, despite all your self-doubt and tendency to find fault with yourself, you are progressing more than you realize and are learning precious lessons that are perfecting and purifying the very substance of your soul. Eventually, following this detailed and soulful examination of your most recent earthly sojourn, you will begin preparations to undertake still another incarnation to continue your work of purification, perfection and reunification until, at last, you will labor no longer in mortality as it is experienced upon the earth.
This present lifetime in which you are now engaged is fraught with divine intention—your intention. You were not born to wander and while away your time either in confusion or in idle entertainment. Each human birth is a deliberate step upon the spiritual journey that must bring you back through the earth plane many times.
Although, for many, earth life seems difficult, even tragic, each human incarnation on the earth is filled with opportunity for healing because, at birth, you bring with you many scars and deep soul injuries.
Some of these injuries resulted from the fragmentation that occurred during the original split from Us; many others were from traumas that you suffered during past lives. While the memory of these past events is hidden from you now, their effects are not. Therefore, it is the effects that you must work with in order to heal. It is not necessary for you to remember events from past lives; it is necessary for you to recognize the painful and fearful emotions that plague you now, especially those that recur throughout your life. Though life’s difficulties may be trying, these very circumstances in which you find yourself right now are ideal to help you to uncover those aspects of yourself that most need your attention and healing. One reason why so many kinds of problems are so painful is because they directly relate to similar ancient wounds that have not yet been healed. And so the impact of present wounds combines with the lingering archaic pain, resulting in terrible suffering.
This healing and purification of the soul—the consciousness—is godly work, and these successive mortal lives that you live upon the earth are the steppingstones you must tread in order to integrate your physical consciousness with your divine consciousness, which is Our consciousness. Perfect unification with Us is the bliss that all things seek. As with everything else, great spiritual objectives are achieved one step at a time. Fundamental to the attainment of this bliss are patience and faith—patience with yourself and others while you are in the process, and faith that you are as indispensable and irreplaceable as any of the other myriad manifestations of what it pleases you to call God.
